The Share for June 14, 15, and 16, 2011

The variability of Spring weather, especially the Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde season we’re currently experiencing, creates conditions in which a consistency of growth is difficult to maintain. Consequently the harvest on Tuesday can be different from that of Wednesday and from that of Thursday.

Usually everybody gets the same share choices, with minor variations. This week the variations will be greater; thus the share listing will post the potential vegetables, and you’ll find out what your share will be when you get to your distribution.

The Vegetable Share: Greens: probable choices–Spinach, Choi, Red Russian Kale, Komatsuna, Mizuna, Vitamin Greens, Arugula; Lettuces; Radishes with their Greens.

The Fruit Share: Strawberries.

Recipes: Penne with Choi and Bacon; Greens Tart; Arugula Salad with Maple Vinaigrette; Lime-Marinated Radish; Sweet and Sour Radish Pickle; Strawberry Coconut Loaf.
